About The Podcast

I Am Binti is a podcast dedicated to helping women reclaim their identity, challenge limitations, and embrace the fullness of who they were created to be. Inspired by the biblical declaration “I Am” (Exodus 3:14), this podcast explores how our identity is not defined by societal expectations, cultural norms, or external labels, but by the divine purpose breathed into us by God.

Just as “I Am” reflects God’s infinite, self-existent nature, we, too, are created to be multifaceted—unbound by singular roles or imposed constraints. Through intimate conversations, personal reflections, and stories of faith and resilience, I Am Binti provides a space for women to break free from limiting narratives and step into their God-given purpose with confidence.

This is more than a podcast—it’s a movement of self-discovery, faith, and bold authenticity. I Am Binti is an invitation to deconstruct, redefine, and fully embrace the limitless identity within you.

The Founder

I’m Joy Kimambo, a storyteller, creative, and the heart behind I Am Binti. Growing up in Tanzania, I was drawn to the arts—singing, dancing, writing, and acting—but quickly learned that creativity was often dismissed as a pastime rather than a path. The space for self-expression felt narrow, confined by cultural expectations of who I should be.

But I refused to be defined by limitation. I adopted Binti—a Swahili word for “daughter”—as a symbol of quiet defiance, transforming it from a label of constraint into one of possibility. Inspired by my faith in Jesus and the declaration “I Am” (Exodus 3:14), I came to understand that identity isn’t something dictated by tradition or external voices—it’s something sacred, woven into us by God.

With I Am Binti, I’ve created a space for women to challenge the narratives that have kept them small and reclaim the fullness of who they were meant to be. This is my journey, and I hope it inspires yours.
